The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is a collaborative initiative that brings together a global humanitarian organization, a manufacturer of roofing materials, and roofing contractors across the nation to honor and protect veterans. The program, which began in 2016, provides veterans with safer and more comfortable homes by replacing their old roofs. Habitat for Humanity identifies veterans in need of a new roof, Owens Corning donates the necessary materials, and Platinum Preferred Contractors donate their labor to install the roofing systems. Since its inception, the project has installed nearly 60 roofs and continues to gain momentum.
The program has resonated with both contractors and communities. Many contractors have personal connections to the military and are eager to give back to veterans. This initiative not only benefits veterans but also demonstrates the commitment of companies to corporate philanthropy and making a positive impact in their communities.
