Inspiring Tomorrow’s Workforce at Construction Career Day 2026

Stonebrook Exterior had an incredible time at Construction Career Day 2026 in the Haymarket! Events like this are a great reminder of how important it is to connect with the next generation of builders, roofers, and skilled trades professionals right here in Lincoln.

This year, our team brought a fresh, hands-on approach with a shingle roofing demonstration, giving students a step-by-step look at how a roof is installed. Even better—they got to try it themselves. We also continued one of our favorite traditions: a masonry bricklaying demo, where students could get real experience working with materials and tools used every day in the field.

Seeing students jump in, ask questions, and take pride in what they created was easily the highlight of the day.

Why Construction Career Day Matters

Construction Career Day isn’t just another event—it’s a hands-on introduction to real career opportunities in the construction and exterior industries. For many students, it’s their first time experiencing what a future in roofing, masonry, or exterior restoration could actually look like.

At Stonebrook Exterior, we believe events like this play a critical role in shaping the future workforce.

Here’s why it matters:

  1. Showcasing Real                      Career Opportunities
Many students (and parents) don’t always realize the variety of careers available in construction. From roofing and masonry to project management and exterior restoration, this industry offers strong earning potential, job stability, and long-term growth.
  1. Building the Future Workforce
Connecting with students early creates meaningful relationships that can turn into future career opportunities. It’s a chance to inspire motivated individuals to consider a path in the skilled trades.
  1. Strengthening the                    Local Community
Workforce development starts with exposure. By participating in events like this, companies like Stonebrook Exterior help support Lincoln’s growing construction industry and invest in the community’s future.

Hands-On Learning Makes the Difference

What sets Construction Career Day apart is the interactive experience. Instead of just talking about the work,

students get to:

  • Try roofing techniques firsthand
  • Lay brick and understand masonry basics
  • Explore tools and materials used in real projects
  • Ask questions directly to industry professionals

That kind of hands-on learning leaves a lasting impression—and often sparks real interest in pursuing a career in construction.
